Every time I access the internet using either of the two browsers, IE or Firefox, sooner rather than later, I crash with a blue screen of death. I got so frustrated that I uninstalled it and now the internet access works normally. Did this product go through QA?

I have played it for several of my close friends while in my car (all of whom like completely different types of music) and they all fell in love with him instantly as well. I think anyone would find it hard to not like this CD. Thanks for reading my review!
Arthur’s Computer Adventure
What’s a kid to do when his best buddy lets him borrow an exciting new computer game, but his mom says “I’d prefer you stay off my computer?” Sneak on to the computer, of course. Trouble is, the young cartoon aardvark Arthur and his bunny friend Buster crash the computer. Now Arthur has to decide when and how to confess the crime to his mom. In the accompanying episode, Arthur vs. The Piano, Arthur’s overconfidence becomes his own worst enemy. A bad dream causes him to have stage fright during the dress rehearsal of his piano recital. With encouragement from Grandma and Buster, Arthur overcomes his fear, much to his relief. Kid-savvy dialogue, imaginative drawings, and realistic plots make Arthur films worthwhile choices for 4- to 8-year-olds. Fans of author Marc Brown’s best-selling children’s stories will be happy to note that the video episodes closely follow their written counterparts. –Liane Thomas

Switched-On Bach
Wendy Carlos’s Switched-On Bach is one of those rare novelty recordings that never gets boring. In the capable hands of Carlos, Bach’s keyboard masterpieces sound like they were made for the otherworldly blurps, farts, and chimes of a Moog synthesizer. And, in a sense, they were. Bach’s inventive music doesn’t lose any of it’s contrapuntal punch in these complicated arrangements and, novelties aside, the playing is great on this Grammy Award-winning classic. Whether performing Bach’s “Two-Part Inventions,” “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” or “Wachet Auf,” Carlos offers one-of-a-kind interpretations, her synthesizers still sounding as otherworldly as they did in 1968. This is one of those weird and wonderful classical releases that anyone–classical scholar or pop enthusiast–can enjoy. A Switched-On box set exists, capturing most of Carlos’s baroque-gone-berserk output, but this is the disc that started it all. In a word, fun. –Jason Verlinde Customer Review: VERY switched on and total joy! I was thrilled to see how many people like myself love this album & were introduced to it at an early age like I was. I believe the original release was in 1963 (?) and I remember as a kid I thought Walter Carlos was the guy on the cover of the album… so imagine my surprise when years later I see the same album cover with the performer listed as Wendy Carlos. Could it be the same album? Was I about to get really happy? YOU BET! I was so delighted to see this released on CD I can’t even tell you. I loved this album and listened to it repeatedly as a kid. I especially love the pure, triumphant, unadulterated and unapologetic JOY of the first track, the Cantata… wow, turn THAT up in your car and just feel the tears of joy flood your eyes… well, maybe pull over if you are like me and can’t see for that very same reason! Bach is so very well suited to this medium- to hear each line like this and really have so much great color and definition– I think Bach himself would be so very proud of Wendy’s achievement. This album was such a landmark- I also was fascinated by the Tomita Planets (a synthesized version of the same composition by Gustav Holst) when I was younger- but this album will always have a special place in my heart. If you get it for only the very first track, it will be money well spent. Having said that, the whole album is just amazing- the Air on a G string is so reverent and peaceful. The inventions are all a trip! The one in F always cracks me up because that was one of the 1st pieces of his I tried to play… very tough because the hands do exactly the same thing- but 1 measure apart. Wendy’s tempos are cookin’ too, such virtuosity! But the love is there too on the slower movements where the time and care with the dynamics is so evident. GREAT ALBUM, be glad it’s on CD and get it! You won’t regret it.

I want a system that is very powerful, weighs almost nothing, has a huge screen but small overall size, and runs forever on its internal battery. Unfortunately such a system is hard to find. Therefore you have to make compromises. And in reading this book I find that I pretty much agree with the analysis Mr. Gookin makes. And I base that on having had about a dozen of them down through the years. First, decide what you’re going to use it for. I use it for programming, especially web programming so I need a web server, a database and some other web software. That fits into his second comment, decide what software you’re going to use. OK, that’s a given. Windows (not Apple or Linux). Screen size - smaller is better for me because the overall system can then be smaller. I’m just looking at code most of the time and don’t need graphics. Service & Support - as he says, go with a big name company, look carefully at the extended warranty. The extra money was worth it when laptops were $2,000+, I’m not so sure now that they’ve gotten so cheap. Battery life used to be important and I carried three batteries around. Now with most aircraft having power available it’s not nearly so important - and besides batteries are heavy. I’ve found power outlets in airports, coffee shops, libraries, on trains and other obscure places. I now only carry only one battery. Physical security, get one of the tie down devices that connect your laptop to the desk. This is especially a problem at college. I find I’m talking my own ideas. I didn’t mean to start preaching. After all these points and more are included in the book. This fellow knows what he is talking about.
