Hey, thanks for the great stereo sound..

lynyrd skynyrd said that there phrase pertaining to him was a tongue in cheek thing. anyways the song is about civil rights and how the most well known events of the movement took place there. i'm sure neil young and lynayrd skynard would be ashamed of you guys getting worked up over a song. how about we shake hands and call it a day shall we.

Damn you neil young! how dare you bash us southerners we fought for feedom NOT slavery,(that's the truth and I dare you to look it up) I'm proud to be in dixie, damn yankee! like Lynard skynard said a southern man don't need you around.

So there... if a rebel flag flying offends you. you need a history lesson.
rtl14 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Ok, first of all if anyone new anything about the "southern way of life" they would not bash it. Being from the south isn't about being racist. The civil war was not fought over slavery. It was the unions solution to the confederate secession from the union. Now the reason the confederates broke away from the union was because of states rights, not slavery being abolished. it was the states right to choose to be a slave state or a free one. So it was a change that the rebels had no say in.

They were friends too. No matter what the words are in the song. they were still after the same thing, that all mighty dollor.

Nope, this song. Referenced explicitly in the lyrics to SHA "Southern Man don't need Neil Young around anyhow"
