Interesting ... I just listened to axis bold as love, I'm not sure I'd go as far as rip off, but I'm pretty sure Tuesday's Gone was at least inspired by Hendrix. On the other hand there are only so many note combinations to work with, especially when we're talking about a 15 note riff. But I do agree they do owe something to Hendrix on this song, but most artists owe other artists something (not just in music as your local art museum would tell you.)
