For the most part I agree with you. The cop COMPLETELY blew a petty infraction out of proportion & should spend some time in jail himself. However, he didn't commit theft. If the boy was skateboarding on private property, that's trespassing & a cop CAN legally take/confiscate your board. Just like if you bring a playboy magazine to school, the teacher can confiscate it. Also, he didn't threaten to kill the kid. He was advising the kid that his general attitude COULD get him killed later in life.
