I think Fords main downpoint was the late 70s through the late 90s, (like all other American cars at that time)but I think the new ones are much better than that nasty are. Japanese cars at that early age were almost non-exhistant, just golf carts with motorcycle engines, they built their auto philosophy from the motorcycle engines, small, economic, tough & simple.

People can rip on Ford all they want for todays vehicles, but they forget that Toyota, Honda, and all the other imports have never built a single car with 1/10 the soul of a 50s or 60s Ford.

my father has a 1962 thunderbird with the tonneau cover but i dont actually think its a real roadster....the car came with the fender skirts, and the tonneau doesnt have the roadster emblem between the 2 head rests and the numbers dont match up, also there were no holes for the 2 emblems on the front fenders either.

Wow, what a great looking car. A true American classic. Those cars were way ahead of the the times as far as the styling and design. They were one of the first cars to build the door handle into the design of the car. Awesome. |
