When joy division were warsaw curtis had more of a punky voice but then changed it to the deeper voice we hear in joy division, and he himself said that was influenced by Jim morrison.

This tune brings back so many nostalgic memories. I still remember the first time I heard Unknown Pleasures.

Seriously, if music touches your soul, who cares where it comes from. I think it's brilliant that kids are learning about Joy Division through The Killers. The Killers do a stand-up job of the original anyway! Music had to come from somewhere, right?? Miss you Ian.

Interesting comparison. Never thought to compare The Doors to Joy Division, but it's actually somewhat appropriate.

Bands copying bands is nothing new. I wanna be adored by the stone roses sounds similar to this. They all get their influences from somewhere. Some Joy Division songs sound similar to The Doors.

Dont patronise young people by saying they only know joy division through the killers. Joy division is passed down from working class families and thats how we know of Joy Division, and thank god we do! |
