ChandlerBingBong: I love's me some Blondie, Plastic Letters and Eat to the Beat but don't kid yourself, Parallel Lines is a damn good album as well.
The only reason some Blondie fans dislike it is because Blondie 'sold out'.. Either way, if it were their first album or it was another band, it would hardly be seen that way. It is a phenomenal album. You Look Good in Blue is still my favorite Blondie song though..

were you from the other boroughs, manhattan, or CT or NJ when you were scoping for drugs? what were you looking for- synthetic drugs, or weed or cocaine? wasnt most of manhattan a total hole at that time? (its probably gotten much better since...). did you see blondie prior to their signing w/ private stock? i can ask you questions for hours.....

Back around the time this song was made license plates in CT and NJ were both blue.
The NYPD would typically be suspicious of out of state cars trolling around neighborhoods like Washington Heights or the Lower East Side because as often as not they were the bridge and tunnel crowd coming into town to buy drugs.
The cops nicknamed these cars "Blue Plate Specials"
Jersey plates are yellow and black now
