Yes you're right! it was kinda ironic because this accent, as bad as it is, is a part of them and it's just cool and unique but I mentioned that already

"The song "Planet Rock" was soley produced by Kraftwerk for Bambaata." WRONG! Kraftwerk SUED Bambaataa for his use of parts of this song and the beat from their song "Numbers". He didn't have their permission, so they sued him, and they won the lawsuit. That is why now Kraftwerk's name has to be mentioned in the credits of Planet Rock.

no samples in 1982? you must have forgotten "nasty" by grandmaster flash: that beat was from "genius of love". also that basketball rap-i forgot who made it- that sampled "cutie pie"(not kurtis blows "playing basketball"; that was 1985). flash also sampled "mt. airys groove" for the song "its a shame" on the album "the message" and kraftwerk sued bambaata for using the melody to T.E.E so i dont think they worked together on it.

great track and this awful german accent ... so unique :D

Actually, Bam and producer Arthur Baker "borrowed" the melody from "Trans Europe Express" and the beat from "Numbers". As for there being no samples back in the day, go listen to "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash On The Wheels of Steel" sometime

Bambaata didn't "sample" this song. The song "Planet Rock" was soley produced by Kraftwerk for Bambaata. In 1982, there WERE no samplers, just djs.

this is the dopest song of all time.

Beides PFunk, this is the ultimate band! Even Afrika Bambaataa used this sample for "Planet Rock"!
