A cut from Jim DiSpirito's CD "Big Silence".
Video edited by Paul Ruggeri.
Jim has studied music in the US at the Berklee College of Music and Indiana University of PA. He then studied overseas, including tutelage in India (tabla drumming) as a student of Ustad Zakir Hussain & Nishikant Barodekar.
Jim is a three-time Emmy Award nominee for his music for television, and has composed music for independent and IMAX films. Jim has also received a 2005 Telly Award for music composition.
As the percussionist for Rusted Root (1993-2001), Jim helped define the great rhythm-based sound that would propel the band to gold and multi-platinum sales.
Since exiting the band Jim has completed work on the project "big SILENCE", his debut CD, which incorporates the world-beat and American pop sounds.
Jim's wife, singer songwriter Carol Lee Espy, co-wrote, co-produced and performed on Big Silence. Other great players on the project include Dave Brown & Eric Reibling (The Gathering Field), Dwayne Dolphin (Geri Allen, Wallace Roney, Don Byron, Oliver Lake), Lindsey Horner (Bill Frisell, Tommy Flanagan, Joey Baron, Dave Douglas), Pete Freeman and Dave Hanner (Corbin/Hanner Band) ... plus many other wonderful musicians.
