you hit the bassstrings with your thumb!Firstyou plug it and than when the tumb comes down you hit the first(E) bass string.
Do it slow, its not hard, just play the basspart, not the melodie. sounds really cool!! ;-)

Guess it's kind of hard to see on this vid, but he's bouncing the heel of his right hand on the bass strings while plucking the high strings. With the Maton peizo & mic pickup combo, it's picked up very well by the amp.
