@illtake9-No GVT = anarchism ,essentially end of civilization . Republicans claim they want less Gvt but it's a myth. They embrace that format cause that's the only thing that's left on the table for'em . If they wanna make GVT small, they can start by not running for office, how about that.

a few years ago, two parents went out for dinner. Nope, GOP is pro-subsidies, mostly anti-fair/flat tax, they are anti- second amendment since they believe that individuals should not be allowed to own nuclear weapons, canons, etc, and they are anti-choice (pro-life), all economic market distortions, anti-freemarket. They are also pro-patriot act, and call dissenters traitors & want flag burners to be put in jail violating amendment 1 to the US constitution.

You've got it backwards. Republicans these days want to keep government out of peoples' lives with a free market economy. The definition of "free market" is a market without government control. Democrats want more oversight in the economy and things like gun control; therefore Democrats are more pro- government than republicans.

Even if Obama does want to add that much spending right now, what he wants to invest in is essentially going to make the United States that much better off not too long down the road. |
