The ending ws brilliant because of how realistic it was. The bad guy does get away alot of the time, and the guys fighting to keep peace and order lose alot of the time in real life. So, Anton got away, Llewelyn died, and Sheriff Ed Tom Bell pretty much failed. In a hollywood ending, Llewelyn would've killed Anton,and that would be entertaining for audiences, but it would really degrade the movie. The film is art, if it had hollywood ending, all it would be is just a good movie.

you should be able to watch a movie without knowing anything about it, and enjoy it regarless. even though it was an allegory, or so you think it was...if it was, it still sucked- it was long, uneventful, and fucking boring. then the end sucked, but even if we forget about the ending, the movie itself sucked the whole fucking way through, i mean there were interesting parts, but thats it, a few moments that grabbed my partial attention. it sucked ass, you are just too fucking dumb to realize

You retard, the movie is an Allegory. It's confusing unless you know that. The allegory was themed "death", and the ending reflects that because it happens so suddenly an unexpected. Without knowing that you'd think it sucked, by knowing that you'd think it was awesome.
