I think that solo on the studio version is Chris Wood's sax through some effects unit or some signal processing gear. (a fuzz box?)

I first saw Traffic in '68 at a festival including 2/3rds of Cream (Clapton & Baker) Jeff Beck Band (with Rod Steward), John Mayall, Ten Years After and many more. They blew them all away. Yeah, RIP Chris Wood, one of the coolest rock musicians of all time.

Couldn't agree more with you secongbreakfast.Just because johnny mainstream listens to shitty music doesnt mean you have to. There are great bands in every genre that would blow your mind....but you don't know they exist. Great bands are out there, you just need to find them.
