From an old VHS tape, here is Hot Tuna circa 1972 with Papa John Creech doing "Come Back Baby". I think this is from the ABC series "In Concert". I recorded the audio from TV at the time and they did Keep On Truckin', Been So Long, Water Song, Come Back Baby, Keep Your Lamps Trimmed & Burning. Perhaps someone has video of the complete show. This is the only song I have found in my collection so far. The band is pretty hot !!

Are you kidding? Santana played woodstock about a half hour after they dropped acid and they peaked out on stage, so the story goes. But that was the story straight from Carlos mouth. They were wiggin nut man!

The first time I saw Jorma - alas about 20 years after this video was made - someone yelled out "Lather". His response was "yeah, right - and who's going to sing it? I remember when 30 years seemed old" and about half the crowd (including me) replied "It still is". I'm sorry I never got to see the "metal years" or Papa John.

Jorma sang quite a bit in JA, usually 2 songs per album starting with Baxters. Course, he was up against Slick & Balin who had great voices. He does and still has a great voice himself. On Volunteers he wrote that great song Turn My Life Down, but he said he couldn't sing it range wise, so Balin sings it

I always wondered why Jorma never sang in The Airplane. He has a great voice!

I came to this show, but was roughly 15 years late, unfortunately. I'm at least glad that it was beyond my power, rather than horrible traffic.

Jorma is what real talent is to the well-deserved.

I used to see Tuna every time they played NYC.Acadenmy of Music(1974-1978), this was their electric period. They were the bomb!. The whole place was one big cheeba cloud and half of us were tripping. They played so loud and so late that the management would finally literally "pull the plug" around 4am. They would play from 9pm till dawn!.

Yes I just wish it could have stayed 1972 for ever.....nothing was "digital" then, either.

Yes, me too! It is all a matter of perspective eh'?
