As a Brit, I wish we had someone willing to speak equally strongly against a similar abuse of power over here. As for President-Elect Obama, I hope he doesn't find this speech as boring as some of his supporters appear to: the content and context are crucial, and a politician who can stand up, be counted, and know his stuff as Gore quite obviously does is a rarity that deserves respecting.

This is boring. Obama can do a better speech then this!

Have you watched the whole speech? 18:10 and 21:00 really sent shivers down my spine! Gore is what I imagine a 21th century founding father would and should be!

I weep when I think what could have been if Gore would have been president the last 8 years. Hopefully Obama leave up to be at least half as good a president as I think Gore would have made.
PS: More people need to see this great speech!

He's my hero...lol
Although Obama championed the debates in his campaigns, Al Gore speaks with such intensity and clarity, it's really a rare find. Not that I want to compare which one is better, they're both incredible and motivating figures...Truly an inspiration!

Okay. Check it. Try and think of Gov Palin up against a statesman of this level. Notice he has almost NO NOTES. He actually knows what he's talking about, and is making purposeful statements..saying things on purpose. These thoughts flow together because he has a cohesive concept. He is an informed and very broadly educated and experienced man. No winking or cuteness or buzz words...just facts and candor.
