I can't let sonofdy off the hook that easy...you say that liberals are "very intolerant" to things they disagree with...may I remind you that two of the most intolerant commentators are CONSERVATIVE- Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck...and that each side has its intolerance patrol...be very careful about swinging that intolerance paint brush around...the theory of plurality is a major part of our republic, and your comment about the intolerance of liberals indicates how intolerant YOU are...

When I was in Catholic school, we were taught that when anyone entered the room, you rose as a sign of respect, esp. if you were meeting them for the first time. When I was out to dinner at a fancy restaurant, when I excused myself to go to the bathroom, the men rose (ala 'Pretty Woman') so I don't think there was anything regal the President's behavior.

Today we see free speach being shut down nation wide in the name of political correctness. All religous thought except APPROVED religous thought is being labeled bigoted and hatefull. The liberals are trying to tear this country apart and the are succedeing. The sad thing is they don't even see it. The middle voted for change. But they don't even know who they voted for. Do you think Obamas public face was real? Almost every single thing about him is a fraud.

I was born in New Zealand and I am now a US citizen. So I know all about the royal leaches, I mean the royal family. The president in this clip was demanding to be treated like a king. With what I see coming in Obama, I am considering moving back. I am in my 15th year in the us army so you can shove your claims about disloyality to the state. Obama is going to be the worst president in US history and shows every sign of a budding dictator.

It's called "protocol". The protocol is that in the US ALL stand for POTUS. HM QE2 stands for POTUS in the US, he stands for her in the UK. The President is the Chief Executive. He IS America (well, the United bits), if you don't stand up for him then you are refusing to stand up in honour of the US. You, sonofdy, are a poor American, if you are an American.

Wow, you return to your anger-filled rant about the President not being a King. Yep, and they're even spelled differently. Now using YOUR logic, SHE was showing disrespect, was bigoted by showed disrespect for a different viewpoint which is why SHE lacked respect for THIS President BUT the President is in THE PEOPLE'S house, so you are expected to show respect for the People's leader. And here is the real difference, if Bartlett was a guest in the room and SHE were President, he WOULD stand.

No the only one showing disrespect here is the "president" who blatantly attacked and browbeat a guest based on her religon. Clearly a bigoted and intolerant thing to do. K, you clearly don't get it. Put simply, she is the ONLY ONE in the room not standing, it's not a 'liberal' tradition, but an AMERICAN tradition to stand for the President of the United States. Watch the clip again, the President is speaking and is distracted by the obvious disrespect SHE is showing to THE OFFICE of the President. He doesn't say "Stand up for me," he calls her out for her partisan personal posture, like you, SHE is being petty, small, partisan & disrespectful to America.
