When the first Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be unveiled on Sunday, July 8 at its official Premiere in Seattle, it will roll out with two next generation Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines - the leading powerplant for all versions of the 787. The Trent 1000's design has been focused on delivering world-best levels of fuel burn, noise and emissions. With its next generation technology and Trent pedigree, the Trent 1000 will deliver the lowest fuel burn economics over the life of the engine. Rig and engine testing have produced excellent results, and continuing introduction of new technology will ensure that the Trent 1000 delivers the lowest emissions for the 787, with significant margin to current and future legislation. With the largest fan on the 787, the Trent 1000 will also be the quietest. The Trent 1000 will also power the aircraft on its maiden flight later this year and will be the first to enter service with launch customer ANA (All Nippon Airways) in 2008.

Lol- What have you got against Rolls Royce anyway? You really think the Rolls Royce company are a failure at making cars and aircraft engines. Why on earth would Boeing choose a failure to power there aircraft? Why would hundreds of airlines spend billions on their engines? As for "getting my case of cranial rectumitis fixed" ,right back at you buddy! At least I dont claim the 787 will be powered by GE-90's!

Well, they failed once by existing, once again when they made cars, and again by making aircraft engines. I just gave a reference for the facts, and I'm still being called "untruthful?" That's the biggest load of Jabberwocky BS I've ever heard. Yeah, I know that they're launching all three variants with the Spent. That doesn't mean that it's dominant. Now get your case of cranial rectumitis fixed.

I may be whining but at least I speak the truth unlike yourself. Heres another whine. RR is the launch engine on all 3 variants of the 787. Well done on replacing Fails Thrice with Rolls Royce by the way- How very grown up of you.

Typical Fails Thrice fanboy, whiny, just like their engines.

Why dont you do a little research before making such poor comments. 1. The GE-90 is used on the 777 NOT the 787. 2. General Electric will power 390 of the 787's ordered and Rolls Royce 258. There are still some undecided airlines. If you think that 390 v 258 is a HUGE majority as you put it I suggest you go back to school and learn some Mathmatics

The new GE90s are the dominant engine on a HUGE majority of the 787s. There's a video where a 747 has one on its left wing as well.

BUT these Trent 1000 engines R going on the new Boeing 787, BUT they r testing on a 747. See how this works if u follow along.

matz951 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Imagine if they put GE 90-115B's on a 747! It could easily cruise at 1,000MPH :o
