The samurai thing came from Silla, an ancient Korean kingdom, which was established nearly 1,000 years before the Yamato Japan was established. Even the Yamato clan was direct descendant of another Korean kingdom, Baekje.

This series really has stoop the test of time. I remember purchasing the book that accompanied it many years ago. if anybody is interested in looking for a copy the ISBN on my copy of the book is (0 7126 0080 9) if was published by Century Publishing co ltd, and the authors are Howard Reid and Michael Croucher. Hope that may be of some help

you may want to read up on Musashi a bit as what you are claiming here hasn't got much real fact to back it up. ISBN4-9980893-0-7 by the institute for budo studies in Japan. Most of what you say here is your own understanding, but I have a feeling you may enjoy the real Musashi just as much as the fiction.

The fictional Musashi (written about by Yoshikawa) and the real one were two very different characters. There is a lot of research done on the real man but most people don't want to know of it as they love the fictional man. both versions have importance...

Correct me I'm wrong but I recall in Gorin no Sho he said "A warrior shouldn't limit himself to using one sword" or something along those lines.
